Arctic Tern Symmetry by WNPhotography

I was struck by this shot when I saw it as a Daily Deviation. Clearly this means that it has impact and plenty of it, since typically less than 1 DD in 10 gets a click through from me.

Technique-wise the exposure is spot-on, and the bird is pin-sharp whilst the long lens and low f-stop combine to reduce the ground to a surrealist, almost abstract, blur of colour, further emphasising the subject.

It's completely original too in my experience, showing a bird of more or less any species except a hummingbird with its wings on full up beat like this.

I "only" gave the shot 4 for vision because my experience says that there's always a touch of luck in getting somethign this specific with birds flying, displaying (peacock tails aside) or actively breeding.

Finally, I'll sign off with my usual request that, if you don't think the critique is fair, you tell me why.
